JACEE-10

JACEE-10 was launched in December of 1990, and was our first Antarctic flight for the group. The 8.5 day exposure was extremely succesful and formed the template for the current series of Antarctic flights. The images here show the multi-experiment gondola, and the balloon launch.

The altitude (pressure) profile can be found here, as well as the circumpolar flight path.

JACEE-10 was a piggyback experiment aboard the HIREGS gondola. More information on HIREGS can be found at http://plasma2.ssl.berkeley.edu/balloon/. The solar power system was developed by Meer Instruments.
